Happy New Year! May 1980 bring everyone happiness and joy. And may it bring me help on how to answer this Agony Aunt letter.
Because everyone has been cautioning that we remain indoors during the full moon tonight, I decided to ring in the New Year with just My Main Squeeze, Julius Squeezer, and Pipsqueak. And of course a nice glass of wine and the wireless. It is sometimes nice to ring in the New Year quietly, not necessarily with a big bang.

Is there anything that's an absolute must-have for kids these days for Christmas presents? Last year was easy, my niece and nephew flat-out told me what they wanted, but this year they're being considerably less helpful. Lisa just turned 12 and Peter is 13.

There's not much to say about the library that hasn't already been said. I only wish I had spent more time with the works that are now destroyed. You always think that, oh, you can look at them again later, devote more time to really studying it later, and then the next thing you know, they're nothing but ashes and rubble.

I feel like there's nothing I can say about what happened yesterday, other than that I am incredibly relieved to have learned that my brother got his children onto the train quickly and he and his wife left shortly thereafter, before everything happened. That, and that my heart goes out to everyone affected. God, will these bastards never stop? Innocent muggles, innocent children.
